GOVERNMENT FUNDING
In general, funding is available to everyone, the term after your child’s third birthday. All children are then entitled to receive the Universal Funding Entitlement, which covers a maximum of 15 hours per week. If you are entitled to Extended Funding Entitlement you can claim up to 30 hours per week. From April 2024, 15 hours of Government funding is available to working parents of 2 year old children.
Please visit https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ to find out if you are eligible.
The Funding entitlement provides funding for 38 weeks of the year, and is available term-time only. This entitlement can be split between different providers. At the beginning of each term, you will be required to complete a declaration form as to how your funding should be allocated. The Pre School is then able to claim this money directly from the City of York Council.
If you are in receipt of certain benefits, you could be entitled to receive two-year old funding. To find out if you are eligible to receive this funding please visit https://www.yor-ok.org.uk/families/FIS/family-information-service.html
If you increase the number of sessions your child attends during the term (and after the termly declaration form has been completed), you will be required to pay for the extra sessions. If your child attends additional hours, above the 15or 30 hours per week allowance, then you will also be charged fees at the standard rates advertised.
