In general, funding is available the term after your child’s third birthday. The child is then entitled to receive the Nursery Education Grant, which covers a maximum of 15 hours per week over a minimum of three days. The Nursery Education Grant provides funding for 38 weeks of the year, and is available term-time only. This entitlement can be split between different providers. At the beginning of each term, you will be required to complete a declaration form as to how your funding should be allocated. The Pre School is then able to claim this money directly from the City of York Council.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits, you could be entitled to receive two-year old funding. To find out if you are eligible to receive this funding please telephone York Family Information Service on 01904554444.

If you increase the number of sessions your child attends during the term (and after the termly declaration form has been completed), you will be required to pay for the extra sessions. If your child attends additional hours, above the 15 hours per week allowance, then you will also be charged fees at the standard rates advertised.
