March 2018

A huge THANK YOU to all who donated and supported the Autism Awareness week. We raised an amazing £167.00. (and had lots of delicious cake to try!) This is a cause very close to our hearts that is often missed so thank you so much.

Welcome back – hope you all had a lovely Easter break. We have lots planned for this term – our main theme being ‘where we live’ (both the local area, York and our own homes). Please send any photos of you exploring our local area, we live in such a lovely part of the country. We will be looking at house types, holiday homes, building materials and having great fun with construction.
Parent consultation – yes it’s that time of year again. If you would like to arrange an appointment with your keyworker (or Katherine if more convenient) to chat about your child’s progress and see their learning journey please sign on the sheet in the cloakroom for weeks commencing 23rd April or 30th April.
Drawer notes – don’t forget to check your child’s drawer – we have had lovely positive feedback about the personal notes regarding your child’s day/play.
We would love to work further together using your child’s activities/interests with you as a family. Can we ask, if you have any news following weekend activities for you to drop us an e mail (with photos attached would be even better) so we can share this with your child. For example if you’ve had  a farm visit or seaside day, we can then adapt activities at Pre School too to make full use of all learning opportunities.
We will be holding a sponsored Lego Build at Pre school. We hope to use the proceeds to develop further our small world play – an area that the children love, but resources are very old, many needing replacement. Look out for details and a sponsor sheet very shortly.
